Research from Monterey Insight has revealed the top Luxembourg private market fund service providers, as of 31 December 2023.

Caceis and Citco, along with Alter Domus and Aztec Group, dominated the list of largest Luxembourg private market fund service providers produced by Monterey Insight. The law firm Arendt & Medernach and statutory auditor PWC topped their categories.

Monterey Insight, known for publishing its annual service provider rankings, . The research and data firm provided Paperjam with breakout rankings solely within the private market fund universe.

The top 4 Luxembourg administrators for private asset funds were Alter Domus, Citco, Caceis and Aztec Group, although the rankings vary slightly if comparing by total net assets or by number of sub-funds.

Caceis topped the custodian/depositary bank category, with Citco taking second placed based on total net assets and BNP Paribas taking second place based on number of sub-funds.

Alter Domus led in the transfer agent field, with Citco and Caceis taking second or third place based on total net assets or number of sub-funds.

PWC was the largest Luxembourg provider of audit services to private market funds, followed by EY.

Arendt & Medernach was the top legal advisor in the segment, with Loyens & Loeff and Elvinger Hoss Prussen taking the second or third slot based on total net assets or number of sub-funds.
