Cactus has announced the definitive closure of Cactus Hobbi in Howald on 31 December 2024.

It’s the end of the road for Cactus Hobbi in Howald. Cactus has decided to close the doors of the specialist home and garden shop on 31 December 2024. The 34 employees currently working there will be reassigned to other shops in the Cactus network. Some of the Hobbi products will end up in the Cactus supermarket in Howald. Otherwise, customers will have to go to one of the three other Hobbi shops that remain open in Strassen, Bascharage or Diekirch. The decision to close was prompted by the expiry of the lease on the shop, which is located in an area affected by major and prolonged building works.

, managing director of the Cactus group, said: “This decision to consolidate our specific non-food offer in our Cactus Hobbi shops at La Belle Étoile, Bascharage and Diekirch is a good one for our company and our customers. Customer satisfaction and loyalty remain our priority and this will enable us to welcome and serve our customers as they expect us to.”

In 2022, the Cactus group made a profit of €185,306,715 and employed 3,162 people.
