Consultancy CO2logic has confirmed that Campus Contern has achieved C02 neutral status, the first office complex in Luxembourg to be awarded the label.

Campus Contern, which consists of five buildings that currently house 33 Luxembourg and international companies, has added the C02 Neutral label to its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) label and “BREEAM excellent in use” certification.

The label is based on the recognised PAS2060 standard and was developed by the CO2logic consultancy together with Vinçotte, an international independent certification authority.

The Campus buildings use 100 % green electricity for heating, cooling and lighting and have “set the priority of doing the maximum possible to reduce its carbon footprint,” according to a press statement announcing the awarding of the label.

Companies based at the campus are free to design their space according to their requirements and enjoy a 100% natural environment, free from allergens and chemical pollution. A natural solution is used to purify the air in all of the buildings.

Company employees can use Campus Contern’s autonomous electric shuttle bus service and car sharing system. The campus has 67 car charging points for electric vehicles. It also has as a system put in place for the easy sorting of waste and the reduction of packaging. Beehives have also been set up on the rooftop of one of the buildings.
