2023 will certainly be a very challenging year. But let’s be honest, so were the previous three years. For me, there has been a clear change in society in recent years, and with it has come a change in the various industries and business models, which will continue in 2023.
Change is not only a risk, but also an opportunity, especially in cost-intensive industries such as the automotive trade. We are particularly confronted with the megatrends including “connectivity,” “autonomous driving,” “sustainability,” “decarbonisation,” “electrification” and “mobility-as-a-service.”
It soon became clear to us that this change is so comprehensive that individual smaller initiatives would not be sufficient to seize the opportunities of this change for the Losch Group. To this end, both the business model and the IT landscape must be aligned to the future. The “car dealership of the future” will be a decisive factor for us.
As Losch Digital Lab, we support the Losch Group, but also external customers, with modern software solutions and services and actively contribute to successfully shaping this change. We have nailed our motto “From practice for the market” to the flag, because we are convinced that the experience we collect within the Losch Group can be used to successfully support external customers.
And we want to go one step further. We want to contribute to making mobility more sustainable. We are already on the road internationally with our on-demand “Savvy Mobility” software. We can detail numerous case models, from airport shuttles, barrier-free transport, first and last mile coverage, better access to rural areas, school transport to taxi sharing, that contribute to making public transport more efficient.
But it is not only in the automotive and mobility sector that we are confronted with enormous change. The IT/tech area is generally facing further major challenges.
Cybersecurity, in particular, is more omnipresent and important than ever, and the battle for talent in our industry is in full swing.
It is no longer enough to find qualified employees. Employers must clearly take action to offer them an opportunity to develop. We must offer them prospects. We need to promote and support them. Losch Digital Lab’s two locations in Porto and Luxembourg have provided us the ideal preparation for the coming years, since even in 2018 we were able to lay the foundation for our steady growth and invest permanently in the employees who are our future.
Innovation is our drive and software development is our passion. In the coming year, we want to further expand our market share and help our customers to be successful. So I look forward to the year 2023 with confidence and excitement.
