The Ukraine-Luxembourg Business Club hosted a fundraiser exhibiting works by artists from Ukraine and the grand duchy on 9 June.

The event, held at the Scheiss cultural centre in Luxembourg City, aimed to gather means to support entrepreneurs and small companies impacted by the war in Ukraine. The charity event featured Ukrainian artist Oxana Berezhna who exhibited her collection of musical art and Ukrainian sculptor Michael Levchenko. Luxembourg artists Ott Neuens and Elisabeth Calmes also presented a series of paintings.

“The guests were happy to meet the business community from Luxembourg. There was a huge community of Ukrainians who hadn’t met because of covid,” president of the Ukraine-Luxembourg Business Club Evgenia Paliy told Delano. “There was a great match between the interests of the Luxembourg market and the offer from Ukrainians who [recently] arrived and Ukrainians who were here already.”

A total of 85 people attended the event which resulted in €14,000 of funding raised by art purchases and entrance fees.

“The aim was to support business during war, and everyone feels what war is today. Every family feels this as do the millions of people who left the country and there is no certainty tomorrow if they will come back,” said Paliy.
