An exclusive partnership has just been signed between Christie’s International Real Estate and Unicorn Real Estate, bringing a new luxury real estate player to Luxembourg.

Christie’s International Real Estate has announced an exclusive partnership with Unicorn Real Estate, the real estate agency founded by Fernand Hornung 33 years ago. Christie’s International Real Estate is thus expanding its network, which is already active through its subsidiaries in more than 20 countries, including Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, Italy, Switzerland and Austria.

This partnership will give Unicorn, which has a team of 17 people and an agency in Luxembourg and another in Esch-sur-Alzette, access to more luxury properties and a global network of reference for international transactions. The teams will also be able to take advantage of a marketing platform designed by Christie’s International Real Estate. In addition, although Christie’s International Real Estate and Christie’s auction house are separately owned, close relationships can be developed between the two entities. As a result, Christie’s International Real Estate clients can benefit from a first-class service if they wish to buy or sell works of art, collectibles and luxury goods.

“Our company has been approached by many international brands over the years,” explains Hornung. “However, Christie’s International Real Estate is the only one we have ever seriously considered because of its commitment to supporting independent brokerages like Unicorn. Our mission is to focus on our clients, and this affiliation offers incredible benefits for them, including exceptional listing visibility and a global network, which is important in a multinational market like ours.”

A strong market

The luxury market is still very active in Luxembourg and the average price of properties sold in this segment ranges between €2m and €5m. Unicorn even recently sold a villa for €6m. “Demand for luxury homes remains strong, and house prices at the upper end of the Luxembourg market are likely to remain high and stable,” says Hornung.

“Unicorn and Christie’s International Real Estate are founded on the same values, including integrity, discretion, expertise and unrivalled customer service, which makes them an ideal partnership,” says Helena Moyas de Forton, managing director, head of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia Pacific (APAC) for Christie’s International Real Estate.

The agency’s current catalogue includes a duplex apartment in the Saint-François cloister (which Unicorn has been selling since this historic complex came on the market) and a vast equestrian property in Perl-Borg, Germany.
