The parent company of Noosphere--DG Group--has just acquired the construction company Comodo. The deal means the holding company now has 75 employees spread over five different companies.

From communication to construction, entrepreneur David Gavroy is expanding his presence with the acquisition in mid-December of Comodo Construction, a company founded in 2008 by Daniel Coljon.

With 25 employees, the company based in Steinfort is the largest entity of the DG Group holding company, alongside its first company, the Oberpallen-based communication agency Noosphere.

“We have been talking about a takeover for two years now. Daniel Coljon is a long-time friend who helped me start my business--Noosphere--fifteen years ago. Now I’m helping him to retire in a gentle way while respecting his priorities: to perpetuate his business and his identity,” explains Gavroy.

Towards a retail design offer

The multi-entrepreneur became managing director of Comodo in mid-December. But it is Dimitri Seivert, an engineer by training and an employee of the construction and renovation company, who is in charge of operations.

These will be expanded to include two new activities: ventilated facades and tiled swimming pools, decisions taken during the takeover procedure, the amount of which is kept secret.

Construction is definitely a new segment for the soparfi, but its boss already sees possible synergies: “I am passionate about interior architecture and design. With the acquisition of Comodo, we will be able to offer retail design to our partners, such as Delhaize, Hifi International or Pall Center.”

A hunger for growth

While DG Group now holds 88% of Comodo’s shares, Codanim, Coljon’s soparfi, retains 12%. This is a way to allow a smooth transition and to let the entrepreneur keep an eye on his company.

As for DG Group, it is not shy about its desire to grow through new acquisitions. “Our objective is to buy an IT company to offer a complete portfolio of services,” says its CEO.

For 2021, the holding company has published a profit of almost €77,000, twice as high as a year earlier.
