The prizes for the National Literary Competition 2021 were awarded on Wednesday 8 December during a ceremony held at the National Literature Centre. This year's competition was devoted to children's and young people's literature.

Organised by the ministry of culture since 1978, the annual literary competition encourages literary creation in the grand duchy. Each year a different literary genre is chosen. Children's and youth literature was in the spotlight in this year’s edition. A total of 56 entries were submitted in four different categories: children's literature (for readers up to the age of 12) with one prize for an adult author and another for an author aged 12 to 19, and children's literature (for readers aged 12 and over), again split into the same age categories.
