The CSV announced on 22 September that Josy Hames will no longer be a party member after calling members of déi Gréng’s youth wing, “green terrorists”.

Under a post by radio station Eldoradio featuring a report on déi Jonk Gréng, Hames left a comment saying: “they are all green terrorists and this scum will bring about the end of Europe and its culture.”

CSV president said Hames’ remarks were unacceptable and did not “correspond to the values of the CSV”. During a meeting of the municipal council on 21 September, six members of the CSV expressed their disappointment with their colleague’s comments. , mayor of the Käerjeng commune called on Hames to apologise to déi Gréng. After he refused the CSV stated in a press release that it was no longer possible to work with Hames. Wolter formally apologised on behalf of the party to déi Gréng for his colleague’s behaviour.

The Wort reports that Hames has indicated that more information on the continuation of his political career will be made available on 28 September at a press conference at 25, rue Notre-Dame in Luxembourg City. This is the address of the ADR’s headquarters, suggesting that Hames will join the conservative right-wing party.
