Luxembourg-based private equity shop CVC Capital Partners has closed its latest fund, after outpacing its fundraising target by €1bn.

CVC has raised €26bn for its ninth Europe/Americas private equity fund, CVC Capital Partners IX, “exceeding its €25 billion target,” the firm on 20 July.

That figure topped its previous fund, CVC Capital Partners VIII, which launched in 2020 and raised €22.3bn. It also clipped Blackstone’s $26bn (€23.4bn) PE fundraising in 2019.

CVC started fundraising for CVC Capital Partners IX in January 2023 and “experienced strong demand from a global blue chip investor base of returning and new institutional investors,” it stated.

Luxembourg-headquartered CVC has more than €140bn in assets under management and roughly 850 employees at 25 worldwide offices.
