(LSAP), member of parliament and mayor of Dudelange, will be the rapporteur for the draft law on the state budget for the year 2022. Appointed on Monday by the members of the Chamber of Deputies’ Finance and Budget Committee, he takes over from François Benoy (déi Gréng).
His role will be to oversee the work related to the budget within the various parliamentary committees. And to draft a much more political report than for other laws. Benoy has said he will focused on will focus on crisis recovery and resilience legislation.
The bill is considered one of the most important of the year, as it establishes and authorises all the projected state revenues and expenditures for the year.
Work on the bill, which will be tabled during the week of the start of the new parliamentary term, takes place each year between the beginning of October and the middle of December, when the debate and vote in plenary take place.
