In the coming weeks, many graduates will be starting their first ‘career’ type job and other young professionals will be switching roles. So it’s a good time for them to think about investing for the future. Delano’s spoke with Ara City Radio’s Pétur & Shiva on Monday morning about some ways for them to get started as investors.
Grunwald said that many young professionals think they don’t make enough money to invest. Many others simply don’t know where to begin. But he recently had an interview with Gaëlle Haag, CEO of Capitana, an investing app. She shared some general suggestions for starter investors, which naturally are not specific to everyone’s individual situation.
Haag said investing novices can get started even if they’re putting aside just €10-€20 a month. For investors who want to ‘do it yourself’ she recommended learning about exchange-traded funds (ETFs), which are a relatively inexpensive way to build a very diverse portfolio.
Another option is to let a ‘robo advisor’ (like Haag’s Capitana app, for example) create a portfolio for you. Minimum investments range from €10-€500 and then require €10-€50 a month.
