Delano’s Tracy Heindrichs and Ara City Radio’s Tom Clarke on Delano’s Top of the Week segment on 9 January talked about the Rapid Recovery of Ukraine conference and gala taking place at the end of the month in Luxembourg.

More than 7,000 refugees from Ukraine arrived in Luxembourg between March and November 2022, according to the latest data available, and more than 5,200 applied for temporary protection.

The grand duchy has also shown its support to Ukraine through close to €100m in financial aid and allocating 15% of its defence budget to helping Ukraine, but there will come a time where a lot of private investments will be needed to help the country back on its feet. The country is also a funds hub with several EU institution headquarters which could be key for Ukraine’s EU accession.

This is why the Ukraine-Luxembourg Business Club is hosting a and here on 30 and 31 January: to bring together Luxembourg and Ukrainian decision makers and investors and look at the opportunities and investment risks that there will be in building up Ukraine again.

The conference will feature workshops and panel discussions by Ukrainian representatives too, and which, alongside the charity gala dinner will be attended by high profile guests and could really be interesting for businesses and investors looking to give support on a human level of course, but also look into opportunities that are beneficial for all.

The money collected at the gala will go towards the Olena Zelenska Foundation, which focuses on restoring human capital of the country through education, healthcare and humanitarian needs, both during and after the war.
