Police spokesman Serge Arendt told Delano that the precise models of the four electric cars had yet to be decided.

The two Tesla Model S, expected to cost together around €200,000, will become part of the road traffic police fleet when tests begin on them in October. “It helps to know how many kilometres they will do in one shift and how long it works before they need to be recharged,” Arendt said.

The delivery does not mark the first time Luxembourg Police have used electric mobility—the force currently counts a Toyota hybrid among its fleet. Other brands that can currently be found among the fleet include Audi, BMW, Volkswagen and Skoda.

Tesla opened its first dealership in Luxembourg in September 2016. In an interview with Paperjam in June 2017, the dealer chief said they had sold 300 cars in the first nine months.
