The awards ceremony, attended by around 60 people, concluded the official festival programme and was followed by a special screening of “Just the Wind”, a film directed by the president of the International Jury, Bence Fliegauf from Hungary.

Critics Prize

The Critics Prize was decided by members of the press jury, including the film critic and RTL radio presenter, Claude Neu. On presenting the award, Neu said that the choice had been a unanimous one, as the film beautifully touched the subjects of aging, humanity and love. The winner was “Ága” (Bulgaria-Germany-France, 2018) directed by Milko Lazarov.

International Jury Awards

The international jury was comprised of both film directors and actresses from multiple European countries, including the well-known actress Astrid Roos, who has appeared in several Luxembourg productions. The awards presented by the international jury were:

  • The Grand Prix: “One Day” (Hungary, 2018) by Zsófia Szilágyi;
  • The Special Jury Prize: “Winterflies” (Czech Rep.-Slovenia-Poland-Slovakia 2018) by Olmo Omerzu; and
  • For the first time in the festival’s history, a Special Mention was awarded. It was presented to “Ága” (Bulgaria-Germany-France, 2018) directed by Milko Lazarov.
