Samsa Film producer Bernard Michaux took to social media on Thursday to share a selfie as he was getting ready to board a flight headed to Los Angeles, where the Oscars are set to take place in 10 days.

The documentary “Collective” by director Alexander Nanau was co-produced in Luxembourg and has been nominated twice at the Oscars, in the best documentary and best foreign film categories, which take place on 26 April.

The documentary takes a look into the aftermath of a fire at a Romanian rock club, revealing massive corruption and showcasing the importance of investigative journalism. It has garnered critical acclaim since its first screening at the Venice Film Festival in 2019.

A special screening of the film is also set to take place at Kinepolis on 22 April through the Lux Film Days. Following the screening, Nanau and Michaux will join remotely for a debate which will also include European Parliament member Isabel Wiseler-Lima, moderated by director-producer Yann Tonnar.
