According to the 2016 bi-annual report “The Situation of World Fisheries and Aquaculture” published by the FAO(1) (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations), “world per capita apparent fish consumption increased from an average of 9.9 kg in the 1960s to 14.4 kg in the 1990s and 19.7 kg in 2013, with preliminary estimates for 2014 and 2015 pointing towards further growth beyond 20 kg”. This means that global fish consumption has doubled in the last 50 years.

To offer high-quality products while at the same time respecting nature and its great wealth, on a daily basis our purchasing department works closely with fish wholesalers which use responsible fishing methods and regularly visits fishing areas and farms to meet our suppliers. We only work with fishing businesses whose processes and convictions are in line with our philosophy regarding quality.

Let’s live and think “sustainably”

We have selected brands which stand for sustainable fishing, not only for our fish counters but you'll also find them in our grocery and frozen food sections. Discover our seafood delicacies which offer quality without compromise by trying the showcase products at our fish counters or preserved fish by Fontaine, or even the frozen fillets by FollowFish.
