After being closed for several months to combat covid-19 transmission, the Badanstalt aquatic centre in the City-Centre, Bonnevoie municipal pool and Belair municipal pool will once again be available to the public on Tuesday 15 September.

Several amenities, such as saunas and Turkish baths, will remain shuttered, the City of Luxembourg said on 9 September.

Capacity is limited, and reservations are required. Only 20 swimmers will be permitted in the Badanstalt pool at the same time, with a total of 32 people allowed at the Bonnevoie facility and 30 at the Belair pool.

Reservations are limited to groups of one to four swimmers for a single two-hour block each week, and can only be made for the week in progress. Slots must be booked by telephone:

  • Badanstalt: 4796-2550
  • Piscine de Luxembourg-Bonnevoie: 4796-3471
  • Piscine de Luxembourg-Belair: 4796-4982

The Badanstalt centre is open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 8am to 8pm and Sunday from 8am to 12noon. The Bonnevoie pool is open Mondays and Fridays from 4pm to 8pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12noon to 8pm, Saturdays from 8am to 8pm, and Sundays from 8am to 12noon. The Belair pool is open Saturdays from 10am to 6pm and Sundays from 8am to 12noon.

The city said several hygiene measures were being put in place, including frequent cleaning and the requirement for swimmers to wear a face covering from the front door to the changing rooms.
