The project is divided into five stages, taking cyclists from the Esch city centre to Belval past an ArcelorMittal steel site, where it has to pass below railway lines used by the company.

The connection will also offer room for pedestrians, with green spaces planned alongside the cycling path. The final stretch towards Belval will include a bridge with separate lanes for cyclists and pedestrians.

The €39m project is set to be completed at the end of next year.
