The bomb dates from World War 2 and was in the Béigerhaardt forest.
The bomb disposal unit of the Luxembourg army (SEDAL) went to the site and proceeded with a controlled destruction of the aerial bomb. The bomb detonator could not be dismantled, therefore the bomb had to be destroyed on site.
The police had set up a security perimeter to cordon off the site during the controlled explosion.
