The strike took place between 9.30 and 11.30 p.m. last Friday in several units of the penitentiary centre, where 200 detainees refused to return to their cells at the regulated time. In a communiqué published on 29 April, the parquet confirmed that “appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.”
According to the announcement, the strike action taken by detainees did not involve violence and, therefore, “did not entail any need to resort to physical or material means of restraint. No intervention from the GRIP (law enforcement team within the CPL) or the police was necessary."
