21-year old Dany Mota from Niederkorn has been signed by the Old Lady of Italian football, Juventus of Turin, for a reported fee of €2m from his Serie C club Virtus Entella. He will receive a four-year contract to play for Juventus if he passes a medical on Thursday.

Mota, who played in Luxembourg for Union Titus Pétange, scored 12 goals for Entella last season as they won promotion to Serie B. That led to interest from Serie A clubs including Napoli, according to Entella president Antonio Gozzi in an interview in June. “He has great technical skills, great potential, he is a boy who, after a few problems of insertion, has had a great period of maturation and I am sure he will do very well,” Gozzi said.

There were also rumours earlier this month that Greek club PAOK Thessaloniki were interested in signing Mota, who made his debut for Entella.

While he is expected to play for Juventus U23 side in Serie C, Mota will occasionally train with the first team that is packed with superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo and former FC Schifflange player Miralem Pjanic.
