The Luxembourg Stock Exchange has listed its 1,000th bond traded on the Luxembourg Green Exchange, which focuses on sustainable securities.

The 1,000th bond was a $1.5bn Global Climate Awareness Bond issued by the European Investment Bank, the bourse said on 18 May. The 10 year bond pays 1.65%.

Participants in the ceremonial bell ringing included Ricardo Mourinho Félix, vice president of the European Investment Bank (pictured, second from left), Pierre Gramegna, the DP finance minister (third from left), and Julie Becker, CEO of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange (on right).

The bourse said that issuers have collectively raised “more than €500bn for green, social and sustainable development projects across the world” on the green exchange since it was founded in 2016.
