The company said in a press release issued on 19 September:
“The new funding will be used to consolidate existing markets and expand its leadership position in the European countries it operates in.”
In addition to the grand duchy, the company operates in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
According to Crunchbase, a business data site, the placement brings Doctena’s total funding amount to €12.5m.
Patrick Kersten, CEO and founder, stated in the Doctena announcement:
“Our cloud calendar solution is adapted to drive efficiency in everyday management of a medical practice. The medical team does not only save time when appointments are booked digitally. We help reduce no-shows up to 70%. Many empty slots, that would have stayed empty, are made available last minute to patients happy to get fast access to a treatment.”
Doctena said more than 10,000 doctors are on its platform, with patients booking 1.5m medical visits a month.
Its service is also used by other medical professionals, including dentists and physical therapists.
