ISL fair welcomes newcomer families

The International School of Luxembourg hosted its annual Welcome Back Festival on Saturday for families freshly arrived in the grand duchy.

It was a chance for parents and students to learn about local businesses and organisations to help get settled into life here (Delano had a stand.)

This year the ISL campus also served as the final destination in the Discover Luxembourg rally.

The school recently released figures for its students’ International Baccalaureate and International General Certificate of Secondary Education exam results.

ISL students had a 93% IB pass rate, compared to the global average of 77%, the school said on 9 August. More than a third (35.8%) scored 36 or more points (out of 45), the highest tier.

Students taking IGCSE exams had “a pass rate of 99.7% A*- G and 81.7% pass rate A* - C,” ISL stated.

ISL said it had 1,382 students, representing 57 nationalities, enrolled in its primary and secondary schools heading into this academic year.
