De Robertis spread her legs open in front of the “Mona Lisa” painting at the Louvre museum, shouting “Mona Lisa, ma chatte, mon copyright” (my pussy, my copyright) in September, according to the French newspaper Le Monde.
On Wednesday, the Tribunal correctionnel de Paris (Paris criminal court) ruled that it was an “artistic and activist act”.
She was, however, found guilty of biting the jacket of one of the museum’s security guards, and will be sentenced on Thursday, RTL reported.
The performance artist has previously been charged with exposure at several French museums, including at the Musee d’Orsay in 2014 and 2016.
