Lux in Cannes running with bipolar feature

Luxembourg co-production “The Restless” will represent the grand duchy’s film industry at this year’s Cannes Film Festival in July.

Directed by Joachim Lafosse, the Belgium-Luxembourg-France co-production, is one of 24 movies in the running for the In Competition category of the annual film festival hosted in the French seaside town. The movie follows Leïla and Damien, a couple in love as they battle with his bipolar disorder.

Mostly shot in Luxembourg, the film features a number of recognisable local actors, including Luc Schiltz, who starred in the hit Netflix detective series “Capitani”, and Larisa Faber.

Luxembourg film development body the Film Fund will be present in Cannes from 6-15 July where it will host a pavilion in the international village, hosting 14 multimedia companies including production companies and companies specialized in post-production, sound and new technologies, as well as the training program Eave, the Luxembourg City Film Festival and the support programme Europe Creative Media.
