The cap on Super 98 premium unleaded petrol rose from €1.238 to €1.253 per litre (including taxes) on 13 January 2018, the highest cost since early March 2017.
Super 95 regular petrol hit €1.197 per litre over the weekend, the highest price since April 2017.
Diesel and home heating fuel rates remained unchanged.
Fuel prices dipped over the summer--when petrol was roughly €0.08 and diesel was about €0.12 cheaper per litre--but have been slowly increasing since then.
Maximum fuel prices are set by the government and published on petroleum trade group’s website. There are no minimum fuel prices in Luxembourg.
