The 12 unaccompanied minors that Luxembourg had pledged to take in from refugee camps in Greece arrived at Findel airport on Wednesday. The grand duchy was one of seven countries, including Germany, France, Portugal, Lithuania, Croatia and Ireland that agreed to relocate 1,600 unaccompanied minors aged between 11 and 15 from overcrowded camps in Lesbos, Samos and Chios.

Luxembourg foreign minister Jean Asselborn (LSAP) is seen at the airport’s VIP lounge with youngsters who flew into Luxembourg aboard an Air Aegean plane on Wednesday morning. Also in the photo are Laura Palatini (far left), from the International Organization for Migration and Marie-Josée Jacobs, the former minister of the family who is now president of Caritas in Luxembourg.
