The installation is expected to produce around 480,000 kilowatt hours a year, equivalent to the consumption of 122 households, Luxtram said on 10 July. The power does not specifically run the tram network; it is fed into the general electricity grid run by Creos.
The solar panels were installed in the beginning of the year and have completed a “test period”, Luxtram stated.
The project was part of a joint venture with Enovos, the energy utility.
