Backing fairer trade for producers in southern countries as well as those in the Greater Region is acting in a way that promotes well-being and prosperity. This commitment also includes offering apprenticeship contracts, having respectful exchanges between individuals and helping those most in need.

By backing fairer trade for producers in southern countries as well as those in the Greater Region we can act in a way that promotes well-being and prosperity. We can support products from local producers who can rely on their partnership with us.

Supermarkets are expanding on a regular basis their offer of fair-trade goods and so supply ever more new items.

Given that this is the very clear intention, the NGO “Tiers Monde” can count on their commitment and support in promoting fair trade.

By buying fair-trade goods, we as consumers become involved in an alternative global economic model which encourages North-South dialogue and we make it clear that we want small producers to be paid a fair wage so that they can live in dignity.

“Respect for Human Beings” also includes the producer-partners here in Luxembourg and in the Greater Region. These men and women are: brewers, cheesemongers, wine growers, fish farmers, distillers, slow-baking bakers, cattle farmers, producers of spelt, buckwheat, vegetables, fruit, oils, mustard, organic honey, potatoes, organic eggs, seeds, herbal teas, natural soaps, organic milk and so on. Promoting or buying local goods also means valuing these producers while at the same time keeping jobs here in the region. Over 10,000 people are directly or indirectly employed by the cohesive, qualitative local initiative.
