Documents were seized from both the town hall and mayor’s residence on 3 March, Radio 100,7 said on 18 March.
The documents concern Hobscheid’s general development plan (PAG), which first faced a vote in July 2019 and then was finally approved in February 2021.
The investigation apparently stemmed from a complaint lodged in 2019 by someone who was unhappy about how their land was classified in the PAG. It is unclear who and what exactly authorities are investigating. The public prosecutor’s office declined to give 100,7 details about the case.
The public broadcaster said the searches of Hobscheid town hall and the home of Serge Hoffmann (CSV) were confirmed by spokespeople for the local council and public prosecutor’s office.
