European commission president Ursula von der Leyen will pay a working visit to Luxembourg on 18 June.

Von der Leyen will be stopping by Luxembourg, following stops in Portugal and Spain on Wednesday, and Greece and Denmark on Thursday.

She will be met by prime minister Xavier Bettel (DP) and finance minister Pierre Gramegna (DP) at the headquarters of satellite company SES in Betzdorf. Officials from the company will also attend. A meeting with Grand Duke Henri is foreseen during visit.

The working visits form part of the commission's appraisal of National Recovery and Resilience Plans (NRP), and Von der Leyen is expected to present the outcome of  Luxembourg's NRP evaluation and subsequent recommendations by the European Commission.

The three main pillars of the plan consist of social cohesion and resilience, the green transition, and digitisation, innovation and governance. The NextGenerationEU recovery plan, which in June raised €20bn via a ten-year bond, as well as ongoing projects in the grandy duchy are also expected to be up for discussion.
