Tom Clarke was back to present the Ara City Radio breakfast show on Monday morning and he welcomed Duncan Roberts into the studio on Monday morning for the regular Delano’s Top of the Week slot.
Their conversation focused on to Russia’s annexation of four Russian-occupied regions--Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson--and how Putin might react to Ukraine’s recapture of the key city of Lyman in Donetsk.
Indeed, the threat of nuclear weapons being used by Russia remains real, but Nato allies and the EU have stood firm and say they will not allow that to affect their continued support of Ukraine. Retired four-star army general David Petraeus said over the weekend that one scenario could see Nato, led by the United States, destroying all Russian forces in Ukraine and sinking Black Sea fleet using conventional weapons in retaliation to a nuclear strike.
Tom and Duncan also talked about the Russian men fleeing the country to avoid conscription and their status should they apply for asylum in third countries.
