Culture vultures have a new place to find events in Luxembourg after the launch of echo.lu, a new site and brand to replace Events in Luxembourg.

Launched on Monday by not for profit the Agence luxembourgeoise d'action culturelle (ALAC) with support of the culture ministry and City of Luxembourg, the offers a central database for events.

“As its name implies, ECHO is an amplifier and a relay of information at the service of event organisers of all types and from all sectors. They have the possibility to extend the visibility of their events free of charge by integrating them on the online platform and to use, if necessary, a ticketing service of their choice to sell tickets for their events,” the .

The site can be used to post events from public and private institutions as well as individuals. IT feeds also allow the site’s information to be synchronised with external agendas and websites while marketing features help stakeholders to reach engaged audiences.

The site improvement comes in response to the pandemic, which dramatically impacted events and the cultural sector.

Culture minister Sam Tanson (déi Gréng) said: “Following the impact of the health crisis on the cultural sector, we are multiplying, together with the professionals of the sector, the initiatives allowing the public to be in the best dispositions to discover, share and enjoy the artistic offer. ECHO is an instrument that perpetuates these efforts and has the ambition to federate the cultural program in the broadest sense in Luxembourg and to bring together all the audiences from the Greater Region around these shared interests.”
