Present in Luxembourg under the Autosphere banner, Emil Frey Belgium is acquiring AB Lens Motor. With this deal, the Swiss group’s Belgian subsidiary aims to diversify its activities into the commercial vehicle sector.

Emil Frey Belgium is gaining a foothold in the commercial vehicle sector. On Tuesday, 6 May 2025, the automotive distributor announced the acquisition of AB Lens Motor, a company operating at four sites in Wallonia and a partner of Renault Trucks.

With this deal, finalised on 14 March, the Swiss group’s Belgian subsidiary is diversifying its activities beyond the sale of passenger cars. AB Lens Motor employs around 100 people and distributes brands such as Fiat Professional (commercial vehicles) and JCB (construction equipment). In 2024, the company sold 700 new vehicles, generating sales of €50mn. The amount of the transaction has not been disclosed.

With operations in Liège-Bierset, Eupen, Hotton and Fleurus, the Walloon company further strengthens Emil Frey Belgium’s network of 30 dealerships under the Autosphere banner. Last year, this network sold just over 32,000 vehicles in Belgium and Luxembourg, with consolidated sales of €809m.

In Luxembourg, Emil Frey also operates under the Autosphere banner via its Renault, Dacia and Alpine dealerships in Bertrange, Capellen, Diekirch, Dudelange, Esch-Belval and Strassen. The group employs around 240 people here.

This acquisition should enable Emil Frey to meet the growing demand from its business customers, while developing new sources of sales and profitability, in addition to its traditional business, automotive retail.
