Exchange Data International (EDI) on 15 February 2023 introduced the Luxembourg Funds Data Service to enhance its coverage of investment funds.

EDI is a company that provides global security corporate actions, pricing and reference data services. Its Luxembourg Funds Data Service covers more than 50,000 share class funds from over 400 fund management companies, it said in a press release.

“The launch of the Luxembourg Funds Data Service is a continuation of EDI’s strategy to cover all tradeable assets in the market,” said Tony McCormack, head of global investment funds at EDI. “Luxembourg is the largest fund market in Europe and second only to the US globally. Along with the recent launches of the UK and Ireland, and the expansion of our translation services, EDI now covers 90% of all funds in Europe.”

EDI’s active universe consists of 96,000 share class funds--besides the 50,000 Luxembourg funds, there are also 16,000 UK funds and 30,000 Irish funds. In 2021, EDI expanded its services to cover open-ended funds, in addition to closed-ended funds and exchange-traded funds information.

The company’s content database includes worldwide equity and fixed income corporate actions, dividends, static reference data, closing prices and shares outstanding, noted the announcement. These are delivered via data feeds or the internet.
