“It’s a super interesting challenge! I’m very excited.” Announced by the European Commission in December, the decision to entrust Luxembourg with one of the first European AI Factories is taking on a human face. This week, Luxinnovation, which is responsible for leading the ecosystem alongside LuxProvide as technical partner, appointed Fateh Amroune as leader of the AI Factory for 12 months starting from 15 January.
On Friday afternoon, , who is head of innovation, GenAI service delivery transformation leader and director of digital transformation in Deloitte’s tax department, as well as associate professor of artificial intelligence at HEC Luxembourg, expressed his desire to work for the entire ecosystem and its players, from startups to large companies and SMEs. The aim is to set up a kind of one-stop-shop that brings value to those who want to integrate AI into their processes.
“There are already offers, whether from the University of Luxembourg, List [Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology] or elsewhere, and I’m going to start bringing everyone together to see what the use cases are,” he explained.
Initially, Amroune will be assisted by two experts from each of Luxinnovation’s four departments: finance, sustainability, space and cybersecurity.
“I want to help everyone, whether it’s with funding, strategy or governance, or even in the European AI Factories network, because there’s a lot to learn and share,” he told Paperjam during a telephone interview.
