In a bid to streamline investment management by automating regulatory production and providing a reliable data source for both wealth managers and asset managers, Luxembourg-based financial data company FE fundinfo the launch of a new platform, Nexus, on Tuesday 26 November 2024. According to FE fundinfo, the integrated platform is designed to help investment management professionals navigate the growing complexities of the industry by offering a single, unified source of information that supports data integrity, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency and digitisation.
The investment management industry faces several challenges, FE fundinfo noted, including fragmented data, complex product offerings, increasing regulatory demands and rising client expectations. These factors, the company stated, create barriers to efficiency, accuracy and compliance, which in turn hinder growth and performance across the investment lifecycle.
Nexus is intended to address these issues by providing a single platform that streamlines operations, enhances data integrity and ensures regulatory compliance. It is designed to reduce operational costs and improve data management for asset managers, wealth managers and other participants in the investment data ecosystem.
The platform processes over 7m pricing changes and adds 1.5m documents to its master repository each month. According to FE fundinfo, this data supports the collection, verification, management, production and dissemination of investment information to various wealth management channels and financial advisory tools.
One of the key features of Nexus, the company highlighted, is its ability to automate regulatory production, potentially streamlining up to 90% of the regulatory workload for asset managers. Additionally, the platform powers approximately 2m active portfolios for wealth managers, providing access to trusted, high-quality investment data.
Liam Healy, CEO of FE fundinfo, discussed the challenges facing the industry in a press release, stating, “Data fragmentation, regulatory demands and global connectivity challenges make growth even harder. We are in a position to help our clients navigate this complexity.” He further commented, “Nexus connects the investment management community, offering a foundation for informed decision-making and improved outcomes.”
