Luxembourg’s Femmes développement held a Great Gatsby-themed charity gala at Casino 2000 on Thursday.

In its 17th year, the Femmes développement gala at Casino 2000 in Mondorf-les-Bains, inspired by the centenary of “The Great Gatsby,” focused on raising funds for projects in Rwanda, with over 300 attendees, including prime minister (DP).

Founded in 2004 by Abbé Pierre Habarurema and Luxembourg entrepreneur Luisella Moreschi, Femmes développement has funded over 9,000 microfinancing projects, set up a school for 2,000 students and established a health centre serving 300 out-patients daily. Moreschi also serves as the honorary consul of Rwanda in Luxembourg.

Entertainment for the night included performances by singer Sylvain Mathis, Magali Dahan, and a dance act by the Parisian group Magma Show, with Gabriel Boisante as the master of ceremonies and Greg Armano as the DJ.
