The SuperChargy fast charging stations for electric vehicles in Kirchberg and Junglinster have successfully passed the test phase and are now open to the public.

Creos has announced the end of the test phase on its first ultra-fast charging stations, meaning they are now fully operational. The assessment had been carried out since January. They are located in Kirchberg at the car park next to the University of Luxembourg and the P&R in Junglister, with four plugs each--three 160kW stations and one 350kW station serving the network.

This is the first stage of a network that should include a total of 88 fast charging stations in Luxembourg in the coming years in order to support the transition from combustion engine to electric vehicles.

These 88 ultra-fast charging stations will be added to those of the "Chargy" system, which includes some 600 "Chargy" and "Chargy-OK" stations. More than 460 of these are open to the general public.

By the end of the year, two motorway service areas will also have SuperChargy stations, in Berchem towards France, and in Capellen, towards Luxembourg, with six SuperChargy charging points each offering power of 350kW.

Since the beginning of the year, 100% electric cars represent about 8.4% of new registrations, a little more than 2,600 cars. On average, 334 electric cars have been registered each month since the beginning of the year.
