Luxembourg entrepreneur Flavio Becca is accused of having hired a PR agency to tarnish the reputation of businessman Eric Lux.

In 2020 real estate entrepreneur realised that he has been the subject of multiple articles in French outlets Mediapart and Categorynet. After discerning that the publications were aimed at presenting him as a dubious businessman, he decided to press charges. Lux’s lawyer Ilana Soskin refers to the set of articles as an "an orchestrated campaign”.

Connection to Becca

The link to was suggested after Mediapart was asked to comply with the French authorities and provided an IP address which was traced back to a 27 year-old woman who says she was acting on the orders of Sacha Mandel, CEO of PR agency Majorelle PR & Events .

"It has been established that Mr Mandel initiated the content in question, at the request of Flavio Becca," claims Soskin who has asked the court to include the agency's co-director in the proceedings. "This would allow us to help establish the truth," she added. The court is due to make its decision on 9 November.

Becca and Lux are both trying to regain control of a part of the €1bn Olos fund. In the meantime, it is being managed by Yann Baden, an independent director. The articles in question have already been removed from the websites on which they appeared.
