3,300 companies analysed in Europe in 2023
As a reminder--and in order to avoid getting tangled up in the various company communications--the first stage in joining the Great Place To Work network is certification. This is obtained on the basis of the results of an employee survey and helps to enhance the company’s brand image.
Great Place To Work then evaluates the certified companies and selects (on the basis of a dossier and an employee questionnaire) the “best” among them, awarding them with the “Best Workplaces” label. Of the 32 companies certified in 2023, out of the 43 that applied for certification (i.e., 11 refusals).
These companies are then automatically entered into the European competition, which took place on Thursday 21 September. An additional analysis of the programmes of the certified companies in each country then determines the 150 best.
There is a charge for applying for certification. Great Place To Work quotes a fee of between €2,000 and €7,000, depending on the number of employees. However, the price is the same whether or not the certification or label is obtained.
3,300 companies from 21 countries (+12% in one year), employing 2.6m people, were audited (whether they had received certification or not) for the 2023 edition. TrabzonPort of Turkey topped the ranking in the small business category. In the medium-sized category, the top position is occupied by Blue Bricks (Netherlands). AFAS Software, also from the Netherlands, takes first place in the large company category (over 500 employees). And DHL Express tops the multinational category (company certified in at least three countries. DHL Express is certified in 16 countries).
