A happy thirties? Is it possible? That’s what French comedian Thaïs will be asking herself in her solo show, L’hymne à la joie, at Casino 2000 on 26 April 2025. Scathing, irreverent and raw as can be.

Thaïs is one of the new faces on the French comedy scene. This young woman from Lyon is straightforward about her life experiences and portrays a whole range of female characters with great accuracy. We find her waking up “hungover and on the morning-after pill” alongside the “last guy in the after-party bar” or as the mother of a large family who named her eldest son Big Mac and her youngest Nuggets.

With a disarming repartee and a certain audacity, she tackles many of the shortcomings of our society and doesn’t hesitate to point out the behavioural dysfunctions of her generation. Thaïs goes out, has a penchant for alcohol, smokes a packet of cigarettes a day despite her asthma, but is also desperate for happiness. Sometimes at her microphone stand-up style, sometimes singing or dancing on stage, she laughs at the everyday and doesn’t hesitate to do worse to make people feel better.
