According to CNBC, Google has asked its 150,000 employees to register their vaccination status. And it is threatening to fire anyone who is not vaccinated by August 18.

The US giant Google has asked its 150,000 employees to register their vaccination status in the company's internal database until 15 December.

Those who do not respond or are not vaccinated will be placed on paid administrative leave from 18 January for 30 days. If nothing changes, they will be placed on unpaid leave for six months from this new date, i.e. until about 18 August 2022.

And those who are still not vaccinated by then will be fired, CNBC understands, citing an internal memo.

"Frequent testing is not an alternative to vaccination," the memo said. Google had planned to have its employees return to the site by 2022 for three days a week.
