Team Lëtzebuerg is making a mark in athletics in Tokyo after Charles Grethen secured a place in the 1,500m finals and beat a Luxembourg record.

Grethen placed sixth to compete in the semi-finals on Thursday evening, where he finished seventh with a time of 3'32''86, beating the old Luxembourg record—which he’d also held—by almost four seconds. Kenyan Abel Kipsang won the semi-final, rewriting the Olympic record books with a time of 3'31''65.
