Herbert Blomstedt conduct Berwald et Mendelssohn Philharmonie

An encounter with a maestro who is almost 100 and a trip to Northern Europe? This is the daring double challenge that the Philharmonie is offering you this month.

Herbert Blomstedt, doyen of conductors, returns to the Philharmonie leading the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, which embodies the idea of a united Europe in music. On May 26, it also dedicates itself to serving the elegant and inspired interpretations of the legendary conductor: together they perform the Fourth Symphony of his Swedish compatriot Franz Berwald and the «Scottish» Symphony by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy.

The evening opens at 6 pm at the Salle de Musique de Chambre with a screening of the film portrait Wenn die Musik tönt, wird die Seele angesprochen, created in celebration of Blomstedt’s 95th birthday. We look forward to welcoming you to the Philharmonie for this unforgettable journey through time and space.
