Investment funds expert Hervé Leclercq has joined Ogier as a partner in its Luxembourg funds team, the law firm announced on 4 April 2024.

Ogier’s new partner Hervé Leclercq specialises in unregulated alternative funds (with a focus on private equity, infrastructure and real estate) but also provides advice when it comes to undertakings for collective investment in transferable securities (Ucits) and regulated alternative investment funds, the law firm said in its press release. He advises “asset managers, initiators, institutional and private investors in relation to legal and regulatory aspects of structuring, operating, and marketing investment funds.”

His insights into the Asian market, his experience advising clients on the establishment of professionals of the financial sector as well as his extensive knowledge on regulatory frameworks, including AIFMD [Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive], Mifid II [Markets in Financial Instruments Directive] and Ucits, will be valuable for our clients."

Leclercq, who has more than 20 years of experience advising on Luxembourg investment funds, previously worked at Luther, Stibbe, Loyens & Loeff and Wildgen. He has also lived and worked in Japan and Hong Kong, notes the law firm’s press release.

Senior associate Amaury François and associate Laurianne Vessot, who focus on the set-up, structuring and management of regulated and unregulated funds, are also joining Ogier’s investment funds team, said the firm.

Ogier provides advice on Luxembourg, Irish, Jersey, Guernsey, British Virgin Islands and Cayman Islands law and has more than 900 people in its offices around the world. Its Luxembourg office opened in 2012.
