Information received by Delano sister publication Paperjam suggests the private restaurant/club House 17 has been bought and transformed by the Lhoist brothers.

Nicolas and Arthur Lhoist, successful Belgian entrepreneurs and owners of the Knokke Out in Rives de Clausen, told Foodzilla back in February 2021 that they were not ruling out opening a Tero establishment, their new flagship brand, in Luxembourg. This now will happen at the end of October in the historic city centre of the capital, as the two brothers have just acquired the elegant House 17 in rue du Nord.

House 17 never really managed to find its identity, diluted over the years by a lack of clear guidelines, numerous strategic changes and poor communication. With its new shareholders, the venue is now Tero House 17, relying on the history of the venue and the proven Tero formula in Belgium. "It will be a hybrid venue that will host, on the one hand, a Tero restaurant and seminar rooms, and, on the other, the activities of the B19 business club that we have been developing in Luxembourg for some time now," confided Nicolas Lhoist, who also stated his ambition to have 600 members of the club within three years.

Although B to B is clearly part of the event's activities, non-members will be more than welcome to use the restaurant, the pretty terrace with a view and the bar during dedicated afterwork evenings from Monday to Saturday. A Belgian chef from the Tero Group will run the kitchen and translate the company's eco-friendly motto “from the farm to the plate" onto the plate. The new establishment will open its doors at the end of October, after a month's work.

Knokke Out rebranded

The acquisition of House 17 comes at a time when Arthur and Nicolas Lhoist are merging their activities (Knokke Out, People First and Tero Restaurant) to create a single group, active in leisure and hospitality in Belgium and Luxembourg. The Knokke Out brand will disappear in both countries and will become River House in Clausen.

On the North Sea side, where the Knokke Out at Le Zoute is a popular meeting place for Luxembourg visitors, Tero is still working on his project for a 25-room hotel in Retranchement, planned for 2024-2025. As for Knokke Out, whose lease is about to expire, talks are currently underway with the Het Zoute Company to develop a leisure project on the tennis site. This is to be followed by the summer of 2023...
