The House of Startups has received a major accolade: the Financial Times and Statista have ranked it 26th on a list of 150 European incubators and accelerators. The list, Europe’s Leading Start-up Hubs 2025, was announced on 3 March 2025 in a press release issued by the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce.
“This recognition reinforces Luxembourg’s position as a leading innovation hub, driving business growth, investment and international collaboration,” says the organisation.
The ranking, based on an analysis done between June and October 2024, is based on the opinions of more than 4,300 former entrepreneurs who have passed through these hubs, as well as recommendations from sector experts (investors, business angels, academics) and the performance of incubated startups.
Germany and France top the rankings
At the top of the ranking for the second year in a row is UnternehmerTUM, an incubator affiliated with the Munich University of Technology. Next comes Station F in Paris, home to more than 7,000 startups and, says the Financial Times, two unicorns. Third place went to Groupe Start2 from Bavaria,.
The UK dominates in terms of numbers, with 29 hubs in the ranking, mainly based in London. Germany has 19, while Spain and Portugal combined have 24 hubs, two of which feature in the top 20 overall.
This is not the first time that a Luxembourg structure has been included in this list. The Luxembourg City Incubator and Luxinnovation’s acceleration programme Fit4Start in the previous edition.
“This latest achievement further solidifies the country’s commitment to innovation and entrepreneurship,” says the Chamber of Commerce press release. “By fostering strong public-private partnerships, Luxembourg continues to position itself as a dynamic and business-friendly environment for startups looking to scale within Europe.”
The House of Startups, founded by the Chamber of Commerce, brings together several major incubators and accelerators, including the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (Lhoft), the Luxembourg City Incubator (LCI), Crédit Agricole Group’s international incubator and the International Climate Finance Accelerator (Icfa). Located in the heart of Luxembourg City, it has 6,000 square metres of floor space and can accommodate up to 200 startups.
